Debt Advice from Debt Advisory Line

What is a CCJ?

If you are not paying the contractual payments on any credit you have taken, then a creditor can apply to the County Court for a Judgment (CCJ) against you to claim the payment of the outstanding debt. It is up to the Court to decide how it is best for the debt to be repaid.

A CCJ is a judgment that is issued by a county court because you have failed to pay the money owed to your creditors.

If you receive the court forms (usually Blue) then it means a creditor is intending to take you to court, this can lead to you getting an attachment of earnings or even bailiffs coming to your home if you do not complete the forms and stick to repayments the court has ruled on. Debt Advisory Line can help you get this right.

How can Debt Advisory Line help?

When a Claim has been issued against you, there are different options you can take:

  1. If you can afford to pay the debt in full, this will stop the court action and the CCJ will not be resisted against you.
  2. Debt Advisory Line can speak to your creditor and try and negotiate on your behalf to find a solution without you having to go to court.
  3. If the first two options are not feasible then Debt Advisory Line will fill out the court forms on your behalf and will try and get a reduced monthly payment that is affordable for you.

It is important to act quickly as when a county court issues paperwork to you then you only have a limited amount of time to respond. Speak to one of Debt Advisory Lines advisers straight away and they will explain all your options.
